Checklist

Priority Checklist

Due to the success of our cabins, you’ll find a number of companies attempting to copy our designs. Whilst imitation can be flattering please be careful as more often than not they are selling lower grade cabins.

With this in mind we recommend you consult the following checklist which has been produced to ensure that you buy a quality product, regardless of whether you buy from us or another supplier.

CheckMake sure that you see and touch a cabin before deciding to purchase one.

Pictures can be mis-leading and there is a great difference in quality between the various manufacturers.

CheckBe careful that the dimensions of the cabin are correct.

We measure from wall to wall whereas a number of our competitors include protruding parts of the cabin thus making comparisons confusing.

CheckIf possible, try to ensure that the cabin has toughened glass.

Beware of plastic, it will fade over time.

CheckOnce you have seen and decided on the cabin you wish to purchase, take a photograph to ensure you receive a cabin of similar quality.

CheckBe careful of long delivery times.

It would also be advisable to do a credit check on the person/company selling you the cabin. There are a number of websites you can use to check their financial status.

CheckAlways ensure your base is level.

A base that is not level will create problems in the future.

CheckCheck what is included in the price.

ie: delivery, veranda, floorboards etc.

CheckAlways check on planning.

The government has a web site, www.planningportal.gov.uk which is fairly self explanatory. In the majority of cases planning consent is not required but please contact your local council if you are in any doubt.

CheckAlways use a good preservative.

Buying a cheap preservative will cost you dear in the long run.

CheckMake sure your cabin is produced from slow grown timber.

Quick growing pine is cheaper but will eventually twist. If possible, make sure the wood comes from a sustainable forest with all the correct certification ie: PEFC.

CheckUsing metal roof tiles with a 40 year guarantee will make so much difference to the cabin, both in looks and durability.
